I started storing at Southwind 3 years ago. When checking this place out the first thing I was told was that if they don't supply a service then they will not add on any commission fees if I had some one do the work. First that turned out to be a lie. When I wanted to have the boat shrink wrapped I was told that Southwind charges 20% to had an outsider do any work. The then when the boat was pulled the broke the knot meter impeller. This they did replace. The second year. I was launched and had a crew come help me transport the boat. We had to wait 3 hrs for them to move another boat. They had me blocked into the well. The owner Brian new new I was coming to move the boat. They have no communications between the staff and the owner. Now I go down to winterize this year and find that they broke my cradle. They also put the boat bow down on the cradle. So the water is all in the bow. Brian claims he will fix the cradle but at this point I don't trust a word they say. There suppose to re-position the boat on the cradle but I not holding my breath. This is turning into a night mare. There is now rust stains all over the boat and is starting to look like the rest of their boat yard a junk yard of boats. This will be my last year storing with them and I would never recommend them to anyone.

Southwind Marina at 162 E.Lincoln Avenue in Milwaukee provided outdoor storage and winterization for my sailboat. When I discovered my boat was damaged I brought it up to the marina owner Brian Reed and to the attention of the service manager Dan. They both denied the damage. Each time I visit my boat at Southwind marina I photograph and document its condition. I shared this information with them in an effort to provide them the opportunity to see the facts. The Marina owner is now retaliating and holding my boat hostage, they have not given me a launch date. I have requested a launch asap in person and in writing. They are giving me a run around. They claim I need to pay a bill. I offered to pay...I have visited their office and asked to pay my invoice many times. Its been over ten days and they have not come up with an invoice. I missed Mothers Day as a result of this situation. I flew to Milwaukee from Switzerland to launch my boat. We are trying to sell the boat.
We received sloppy service work, negligence and incompetence. Fraud. I have been treated poorly and unprofessionally to say the least. I have nothing good to say about Southwind Marina. I would encourage boaters to stay away from this marina. Southwind Marina will surely leave you heartbroken, disappointed besides costing unnecessary expensive losses in damage and repairs. It is unbelievable that they are not shut down by regulation. Wish I knew a consumer protection agency that could help me. Any suggestions are appreciated.
